About Mark
I am a qualified accountant (FCCA) with over 30 years of experience in the accountancy practice profession, operating extensively across the Midlands and UK. Since 1994, I’ve worked closely with local owner-managed businesses, developing a deep understanding of their financial, operational, and strategic needs.
My career began at two local regional accountancy practices, where I completed my AAT qualification and commenced my ACCA training. In 2001, I joined a Big 4 Firm, qualifying in 2002 and gaining valuable audit experience with UK subsidiaries of global companies. I later moved to a Regional Accountancy Practice in 2007, becoming a Partner and opening the Stourbridge office. Over the next 17+ years where the firm grew to a Top 10 practice, I held senior leadership roles, including Regional Managing Partner for the West Midlands, overseeing more than 12 offices and 150 staff, while leading M&A activity, business integration, and service streamlining.
I started MAC X Group because I saw too many business owners struggling with numbers that didn’t make sense and advice that didn’t feel personal. My goal was to create an accountancy practice where clients felt genuinely understood – and where the team enjoyed coming to work every day.
